>>41425458I'll always be a proponent of the theory that Gigantamaxes were just scrapped mega concepts that GameFreak was too unsure (read: lazy) to bother with implementing as a sacrifice for giving the new region yet another bog standard battling gimmick when Megas and Z-moves were honestly just fine on their own. It's just a shame that said concept has to be a half-assed take on both ideas at once. Imagine that thing as Mega Tox sliding around frying fools in OU or Ubers thanks to going on all fours giving his Speed a nice kick in the pants. Maybe it's an unpopular opinion, but it all just feels like such a waste.
