"That's blackjack!" The dealer shouts with a smile as he slowly hands you your winnings in a large dirty looking paper bag, "You're quite lucky kid, how about another round, double or nothing?" With a shady grin, he looks over to the corner where his Pokemon, a pretty tough looking Samurott, is watching and waiting; likely serving as his bouncer or something. The smart thing to do here would be to quit while you're ahead; you could pay for next month's rent with what you've won today—but a small nest egg would help out quite a bit...
"Alright," you mumble under your breath, "Just one more game."
Your first card is dealt, a queen of hearts followed by an eight of clubs; it really is your lucky day! The dealer chuckles as he asks, "Hit or stick?" You're in a pretty good place here; no need to play it too risky, so you decide to stick. The dealer then deals his first card, a nine of diamonds; that's bad news for sure. Then, almost if on cue, the Samurott in the back makes a loud barking noise, breaking your concentration on the man in front of you. When you focus back on the game, the dealer has his next card drawn, an ace of spades. "Looks like I win this one, tough luck." he laughs as he places the cards face down. There's a wicked grin on his Pokemon's face, like this whole thing was planned, like you were just played. "Better luck next time, I'll be taking my money back."
The whole thing seems shady, it has to be a scam, right? Your hand shakes as you reach for the money, and a thought enters your head, what about running? Before you can even think about how bad of an idea that'd be, you decide to take the risk. Jolting out of your chair, you take off out of the building and down into the alleyway. You can hear the dealer shouting something behind you; barking orders at his Pokemon to chase you down. Your heart beats as you run through the city; it's late, the city is dimly lit by the street lights ahead, but you can't see much.
