This latest CD added yet another completely useless move, one that I personally had high hopes for, as it it would've been something to look forward as a possible CD move for Timburr/Conkeldurr and many others.
Why the fuck does Niantic do this? I do get that they don't want to make PVP moves too good, but why do middling PVP moves have to have middling PVE stats? There's plenty of average/bad moves already.
Niantic REALLY needs to revamp certain moves All moves have different stats in PVP and PVE anyway, so there's literally no reason to make more good moves.
First off:
Charge moves should always* follow this logic:
1 bar moves should be the strongest, since they're the riskiest moves. Requiring that much energy makes them harder to pull off.
Two bar moves should have less DPS, but not that much, and shorter animations.
Similarly, three bar moves should have the least damage, but fastest animation making them the safest option.
An example:
A Machamp with Counter and Close Combat should have approximately 5% better DPS than a Machamp with Counter and Dynamic Punch.
Similarly, if Machamp got a good three bar Fighting move (like what Drain Punch SHOULD have been), it should have slightly less DPS than with Dynamic Punch, around 3-4% less. The actual difference in DPS between the three bar move and the one-bar move should be at most around 8%, but the one bar move should be clearly the strongest.
Draco Meteor SHOULD be stronger than Outrage.
Brave Bird SHOULD be stronger than Sky Attack.
Earthquake SHOULD be stronger than Earth Power.
the same goes for every single one-bar move.
Otherwise there is NEVER any reason to use a one bar move over a two bar move. It's absolutely fucking ridiculous that they're just worse than two bar moves in every way. They're one bar moves, that's already the downside. That should be the ONLY downside. Similarly, three bar moves should be (and most of the time are) weaker than two bar moves, but better for dodging.
