But it just feels intuitively wrong to allow hacked Pokémon into official tournaments. In the same sense that, while TCG play doesn't test for exactly how much money you can waste gambling on cardboard, I wouldn't expect any official TCG events to allow the use of fake cards.
I guess ultimately it's just an appeal to formality or tradition or something. And there's something nice about these events bringing together multiple aspects of the games, isn't there? There's maybe a kind of positive aesthetic benefit to having people breed and train their Pokémon.
