Again, no one has or will ever be presented with a list of 1000 options in a pokemon game. If you go to bulbapedia or smogon or some shit and look up a list of all pokemon - firstly you already made the choice to do this, the choice isn't being thrust upon you - secondly, you're probably not looking at this list with no clue as to what you actually want to choose, you probably already have the parameters decided on or you at least possess the ability to competently set those parameters. Thus choice overload is not experienced.
