Sacred isn't necessarily religious, but I can see why you'd think that. Marriage is traditionally a sacred promise to humans and, to God, a holy vow (next level promise).
The main reasons why it's not an argument from a Christian perspective are the one I mentioned here (
>>23484788), the fact that he said from societies viewpoint (the only societal thing about marriage is to let others know you're permanently off the market, but not the point of marriage), and the fact that he left out God completely.
It was a summary of how modern society idealizes marriage. Not what it is usually seen as, nor a Christian view of it either.
