Just finished a mono-Poison run of Radical Red.
Venusaur was the mega, Gengar was mostly scarfed, Nidoking Sheer Force/Life Orb, Ariados for webs and poison, and Croagunk was banded. Alolan Muk was pretty useless. I subbed him in for the Elite Four for Tentacruel because it can take more hits and resist a couple of Psychic mons. For most of the run I had Arbok (which is poison/dark in this game) and Dustox in the party. Beedrill and Toxtricity were also on the bench as alternative megas.
Surprising MVP was Croagunk, though that might reflect on my poor team building having only one real physical sweeper. On reflection I should have gone for Beedrill over Venusaur, and invested more thought than "it's immune to psychic" into Muk. Muk just had Parting Shot, Explosion, Sucker Punch, and Poison Jab; not much more than a swap-in sack.
I would like to add that I hate this cheating game and I will probably do another run in a month.
