Romhacks tend to be shitty, mostly because they try and be "mature" or "different" and all that happens is that it loses that feel that you're playing a pokemon game.
I'd have to recommend the Pokemon
Sage demo and the Pokemon Gaia beta
I tried both out and they stay very true to the games.
