Say what you will, but Pokemon Legends Arceus knew what it wanted to be and succeeded. Scarlet and Violet claims to have built upon PLA but is a glitchy mess in an open world devoid of life. PLA played smoothly, had a surprisingly balanced battle system, several side quests to liven up Jubilife Village (where the villagers actually have personality), and has a story that was decently interesting. Scarlet and Violet is full of towns with nothing to do (no side quests), three disjointed storylines (save Arven’s who was actually okay), a “final” storyline that was hurriedly thrown together and doesn’t expand on Penny or Nemona, and a lack of post game. The Tera raid battles are a fucking mess too. Pokémon Legends Arceus was actually good for what it was. A single player experience. Why the fuck did GameFreak think it’s a good idea to take steps backwards in the next title?! And why the FUCK is nobody acknowledging this?
