If you got isekai'd into the Ashime right now while Ash was still doing his Kanto gym challenge, then so long as you're semi-fit and have a decent head with passable social skills(that one's gonna be the great filter), then you could steamroll virtually every regional conference Ash participates. Even Sinnoh's- if Ash managed to take out Darkrai, then you'd be able to do it without losing a single pokemon easily.
Just don't abandon your team every 3 years. It's fine to add more over the 6 limit, just don't start over from scratch every time. That's all you need.
Yeah, I know, really wild stuff I'm suggesting here. You wouldn't even need to rush the easily recruited legendaries, although that would help a lot.
Tobias could be you, easily. You'd probably be even better than him, the fact his Darkrai went down at all despite Ash using a bunch of pokemon he either freshly captured or never trained says it all.
