>>23522438One of the many strengths baneposting has is its parasitic nature. Meme mortality is largely influenced by the induction of new memes into the pantheon, which replace the old memes, and are then replaced themselves. Unlike other, less resilient memes, Baneposting has developed an immunity to this. Whenever a fresh meme is born, it invariably combines with it and transmogrifies itself into a hybrid with the host meme - for every new meme, particularly memes from this board, there are baneposting variations of it. Baneposting can never be replaced like an ordinary meme, because every new meme is fuel, causing the fire to rise.
Every attack on baneposting is similarly thwarted and turned against the hotheads. You see, baneposting is always in the back of /tv/'s mind, any criticism on the king of memes is just an excuse to call someone a hothead and an encouragement to continue baneposting.
It can't be ignored either. The nature of 4chan can't allow a collective effort by the hotheads to band together and pledge to never respond to baneposts. Even if a mass hothead alliance were possible, what would it matter? Baneposters outnumber them greatly and would continue unchallenged. Face it, there will always be someone posting "for you" in any thread with a significant number of replies. Baneposting will live forever.
