the tauros bouffalant and luvdisc and alomomola were just fan expectations when gen 5 came out, i wanted them to be real.
a lot of the other changes were things i thought would be logical or fun.
As for the region/story. it would probably not be set in a place based on any existing place. the story is about a group of scientists who've gathered in a region to explore the ruins and technology of an ancient civilization that existed there prior and how they lived with pokemon. Its about a group who discover a form of alchemy and the golems the old civ made. Their goal becomes making the homonculus of lore and in the process end up creating both regigigas and eventually silvally. in this sense, they actually become the villain team.
