So me and a friend tried to work together to shiny hunt an outbreak together, but the spawn rates felt weirdly horrible compared to when I was doing the required 60 KOs. Can anyone help clesr up misconceptions I have on the mechanics of doing it in union circle? Heres what Im under the impression of.
>the moment you enter union circle, rhe number of KOs of the outbreak species are shared to both players and becimes their individual counts
>at this point what host and guest KO afterwards are only counted towards that total on their own cart and not shared
Ex. I kill 15, enter union circle, then kill 5 more. At that point my guest must still kill 45 to get the max shiny odds, while I only need 40.
>we both see the same pokemon encountered, meaning only one of us can battle and capture a given spawned Pokemon
>spawns seemed to be reset when the host goes into a picnic, but we both entered picnics to be on the safe side. Unrelated, my friend as the guest seemed to encounter pokemon despawning before him several times as I was walking without a picnic. Are individual spawns dependant mostly on the host and their location? That would not make sense if we were just doing different things away from each other. Maybe specifically I caused those spawns and by moving away my game told them to despawn despite my friend still being in the active range?
Something about my understanding seems wrong. I killed 60 on my own game, entered union circle, and we teamed up to do a lvl 3 shiny/title/encounter sandwhich. You would think the encounter power would increase the odds of finding our spawn but actually it felt like the opposite happened. This was in I think West area 3 close to the Zero Gate. We were hunting Shroodle, but after the sandwhich I was seeing about an equal number of Shroodle to Foongus when begore union and sandwhich I was seeing plenty of Shroodle. Where did I go wrong?
