Hello. I am making a hack that uses Fire Red as a base, with upgrades implemented from Leon's Ultimate Rom Base. Development is going reasonably well, but I have encountered a minor snag.
Because the hack is oriented around Doubles format, I decided that I wanted nearly every wild battle to be a Double Battle as well. However, there is an issue wherein the game will fall into an endless loop if the player attempts to run away while their second Pokemon has a move with no more PP in their first or last move slot. I've been told that other hacks have this issue as well.
I don't want this to hamper development, so I have decided to do one of two things if a fix does not reveal itself relatively soon; either I will launch the game with a disclaimer about the issue, and supply the player with Ethers, or I will remove Wild Double Battles. Every Trainer Battle would continue to use Double format. Which of these solutions do you find more appealing?
