My current Calm Lanturn has been serving me very well, but I want to try a new one with Soak. My current one is defensive and it has been great at taking hits, but how is offensive Modest Lanturn? Soak works well for both offensive and defensive sets since it removes STAB and gives the enemy a weakness to Lanturn's own STAB. Planning to run Soak, Thunderbolt/Discharge, Amnesia/Stockpile and Confuse Ray maybe.

I've always considered Lanturn one of my top favorites but since I was reluctant to get into battling I always assumed he was pretty weak. Now that I've been battling online a little more he's actually pretty impressive and can easily take multiple hits that aren't Earthquake and burn, paralyze and confuse in return. Sure Rotom-W is more threatening but Lanturn's still good in its own right and it has a minor niche with Electric immunity and Ice Beam, plus I get to run Rotom-H on the same team with Lanturn around.
