It means that while people who make lies and tell fictional stories try their hardest to make the shit they spew as realistic as possible to avoid giving it away that they're telling fictions, the truth has no such compulsion to make itself believable.
If there *were* no inconsistencies with what we already know about Gen 2 and the beta of Gen 2- say, every single Gen 2 beta 'mon we already know about being in the game, or the region being literally a copy-paste of the Johto we already know, THEN I'd start getting suspicious.
As it stands, this beta breaks with what we already knew about Gen 2 way too much to be something someone created using what we already knew.
Plus, on top of that, there's teams of people from the hacking community, the beta analysis community, et cetera poring over every single bit and byte in these demos. Not just lorefags and theoryfags. If this were a fake, it drew the exact wrong crowd for it.
