>>43835983>>43835992>Ghost + Psychic + Dark = DreadSome of you may immediately go "anon, you listed Ghost and Psychic twice". And I did, because there's some overlap between what those types encompass, namely how Ghosts can utilize shadows, and how Psychic can affect the opponent's mental state. Both of these traits already exists in the Dark type, with stuff like Dark Pulse and the overall "dirty fighting" theme that many seem to explain that type. So why rename it Dread instead of keeping it as Dark? Because, unless I declare Shadows/Void as a type on its own, those moves once again fall into the Aether/Otherworldy category. And unless I ascribe a trait to moves like Pursuit, Assurance, and Feint Attack, they fall into the Beast category.
So I either scrap this type, or give it a unique trait for its type. What I eventually settled on is: emotional damage. Stress. Fear. Panic. Utilizing the shadows and the dark to hide their presence. Is it enough to justify a type on its own? Maybe. Either way, my choices are either this route or scrapping Dark altogether, but feel free to call me out on it.
