All of the above does not, however, preclude the fact that Ice is the glass canon type and by far the best offensive type in the game. Additionally, Dark is a top tier type both defensively and offensively to the point that some pokemon's viability lives and dies depending on whether they have coverage for it. Finally, Incineroar, Tyranitar (particularly before Pursuit was deleted), Weavile, Bisharp, Kingambit, Greninja, Hydreigon, Meowscarada, Roaring Moon, Hisuian Samurott, and Mega Sableye all are or were top tier picks in either VGC or fanfic metas.
