There is no need to simplify Pokemon. Pokemon is already the definition of baby's first RPG which can be completed by simply powerleveling your starter exlcusively. LGPE is a mockery of the average gamer's intelligence, giving them Exp All, tons of potions and removed gameplay experience, all getting so bad to the point where LGPE can play itself.
Children did not need to be handed potions and Pokeballs every other route 20 years ago, they do not need it today. Everything shown so far proves Gamefreak is willing to take the easier route of copypasting Kanto 1:1 to it's Gameboy incarnation and label it as accessibility which reeks of shitty business practice for the studio that owns the most profitable franchise in the world.
