Fighting every Trainer with Torchic up until the tunnel, skipping every wild encounter (except to catch a boxed Wurmple) gives you Combusken, no grinding necessary. I skipped the twins on the bridge by boxing Wurmple, so that's technically a bit more experience but nothing meaningful.
