The mask it has in battle changes its type between Grass, Grass/Water, Grass/Fire, or Grass/Rock.
Teal Mask (Pure Grass) has Defiant and gains a Speed boost when you Tera
Wellspring Mask (Grass/Water) has Water Absorb and gains a SpDef boost
Hearthflame Mask (Grass/Fire) has Mold Breaker and gains an Attack boost
Cornerstone Mask (Grass/Rock) has Sturdy and gains a Defense boost
The mask type also changes the type of its signature move
