The GameCube Pokémon games in general make me wish for the days when it was okay for children's media to be edgy. Not edgy in the sense of superficial, dark themes or intentionally offensive concepts, but rather designed with the outlook that it's okay to want to look cool in a way that won't be easily digestible to everyone. God knows 99% of mainstream games in the 2020s don't stray more than a few paces from what is considered culturally appropriate, whether they be intended for kids, adult or all ages.
