I worked as a High School teacher.
The job got dangerous and there had been multiple shooting on or near school property. We never mentioned it in the news in fear of losing funding. We had to keep pushing failing and troubled students through with passing grades to avoid looking like failures while letting the bright kids get ignored and lose their chances at potential. When I tried to fight back, they threatened to replace me.
I quit.
I haven't told my friends or family although am much happier without it despite the huge cut in my paycheck
