I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this little thing is actually very useful in the early game. It tanks well and does hella damage with Rage. It was easy to train. If I didn't have Slowpoke already, I could have easily defeated Whitney with my Dunsparce on the first try. I was confused when I read that even the creators thought this Pokemon was weak.
However, this all flies out the window once you get past Goldenrod and realize that its shit progression isn't going to get any better for tens of levels and that the best moves for it are basically locked to postgame. That's when I said "Fuck this" and quit upon realizing my bud was so shafted.
In fact, almost every GSC Pokemon has this problem. GSC has a shit movepool and a shit distribution of its limited movepool on top of that. Not worth playing in 2019 unless you're a nostalgiafag Johtoddler. Gen III is the earliest acceptable Gen.
