Why is Gen 2 so appealing?
Granted, I assume part of it is simple nostalgia. But hear me out. I got bored to death by Sumo, haven't played the sequels, but Sumo really draggedand the handholding is mindboggling.
But give me one of the gen 2 games and I'll happily play trough them. I also really think that the aesthetics in gen 2 and 3 was pokemons prime, the hardware was limited enough so we didn't get too many outlandish designs.
I'm also a huge fan of 16-bit music. I also like the simplicity of it, basic EVs, no natures. The cloning glitch is fun too, since it allows you to get multiple TMs, removing one of the biggest weaknesses of gen 2.
I also like how we go full circle and face "ourselves" in the end. Imo pokemon would have been fine if we ended with gen 2.
Anyway can we get a general Johto love thread?
