I started replaying Sword recently and noticed something odd about Sonia's research. At first she tells the player that she's researching the Pokemon they and Hop saw in the Slumbering Weald. To do that she's looking into local legends. Okay, but since she's at the lobby of the Budew Drop Inn, she goes ahead and gives the player and Hop a summary of the Darkest Day lore. That's fine but then Hop responds like what she's researching was the Darkest Day, which up to this point isn't what she was researching. And then the rest of the game plays out like the Darkest Day was what she was researching the whole time when it wasn't. No connection between the Weald Pokemon and the Darkest Day is possible to make until at least Stow-on-Side, so it's not like she thought the two things were tied at the time. Thoughts?
