Look at modern day YGO, every single deck bar none for years is forced to run at a minimum 9 handtraps(1/4 of your deck), and some of the same recurring Link monsters.
Every other card in YGO functions in between these 2 overpowered cards, as an engine to both negate the use of the same cards from your opponent and getting out your own.
Right now, let's say Terapagos turns out to be so valuable that it is stupid to not use it as your Tera, Pokemon will functionally be in the exact same meta position.
An omni-utility pokemon that stops a lot of threats in the form of either Incineroar or Landorus-T, and a boss pokemon in the form of Terapagos.
I don't think Terapagos will be that sort of boss monster, I'm just saying this to make a comparison between the two.
Right now, let's say I want to run Snow, I am 200% forced to start out with Alolan Ninentales/Abomasnow and Farigiraf to avoid a fakeout+ 0HKO on ninetales before Aurora Veil.
I have to bring Farigiraf.
There are other pokemon that can Fakeout, but none of them will then sit on the field with 95/90/90 defenses and Flare Blitz.
It's Pot of Greed, and OP's pic showing that 10 out of 19 teams use it proves it.
