I just finished my final of three Kanto team runs. The nice thing about Legacy is you can see the DVs on your mons. I got really lucky with Machamp and Pinser having 15 DVs in Attack.
In the Red fight, Pikachu strangely went with Double Team instead of Thunderbolt, giving Machamp the free KO with Earthquake. Cross Chopping the Snorlax was satisfying. Raichu unfortunately didn't get to do anything because Blastoise's Quick Claw activated and froze it with Ice Beam. Gengar couldn't do much either since most of Red's team knows Earthquake so I just weakened Charizard so Starmie could have more HP to tank Mewtwo's Psychics. Pidgeot finsihed off Mewtwo with STAB Extremespeed, which proved to be amazing on multiple occasions. Having the improved Sky Attack as a level up move is nice too.
I wasn't able to set up Swords Dance with Pinsir in this or any noteworthy battle because it's not fast or tanky enough compared to Scyther or Scizor.
