Monolith Soft made a better game than Game Freak ever has (even with all of Xenoblade 2's issues) with a tiny fraction of the resources, countless development problems, and in about as much time as it took Game Freak to make Sun and Moon.
It's like the video game equivalent of some guy building a functioning space shuttle in his garage with some spare parts while NASA's crack scientists and engineers are fucking around building bottle rockets.
