>>47789250Ash is seen as an adult; he's gained many awards and memories from his travels, and has settled down as a professor in Professor Oak's place. He is seen with his Pikachu, who's a bit duller in color and a little more scruffy. He asks Pikachu if it remembers when they first met; Pikachu tilts its head with a soft and worn "Pika?" As if a bit confused at first, but nods eventually. Ash chuckles and remarks that it was a long time ago, so sometimes he too gets fuzzy on the details, but that they had many adventures. He gazes around a room covered in photos of the friends he had met along the way, all in progressing stages of where they are now. Starring out a large window, he admires herds of Pokemon peacefully strutting about on a field before returning to a familiar table in his lab, one he had once stood before himself, albeit a bit late. Before him sits three Pokeballs. The door to his lab suddenly crashes open, and three children run in, all fighting each other for first place. Ash, gathering Pikachu in his arms and helping it sit upon his shoulder, chuckles and says "Welcome-- are you ready for your first journey as Pokemon trainers?"
It is suggested that life simply continues on this way. It pans out from an aerial view of the lab, across many lands and many Pokemon, and eventually into a sunset, signifying the end of the series.
