>Gen VI
The best, no question about it. The insane variety of Pokemon from all Gens makes it really feel like what I'd expect a real Pokemon world to feel like. It's the ultimate Pokemon experience. That, along with reusable TMs, character customization, superior graphics etc. etc. makes Gen VI the king of Gens.
>Gen V
While BW1 aren't anything special, BW2 were far above anything else when they were released and they're still excellent. Updated Pokemon availability in Unova and (especially) PWT make BW2 the best choice for those without a 3DS. Dat replay value, dem bugs.
>Gens I and II
While often bashed for being outdated, I really like the relaxed atmosphere in the first two Gens where you don't have to care about optimal natures, abilities or EVs, you can just catch the Pokemon you want and you're good to go. I guess most people think the lack of natures and other stuff is a bad thing but I sometimes like to just relax with the old games. Also, Gen II games and their remakes are still the only games with 16 gym battles which is awesome. I don't even mind the glitches in Gen I since you don't really encounter them during normal gameplay and I really enjoy messing up the game.
>Gen IV
GF really run out of ideas with this Gen. All the horrible evos and prevos, way too many pointless legendaries, all that HM faggotry including Rock Climb and Defog, most forgettable Pokemon (Lumineon, Carnivine, Mothim, Wormadam...). Platinum fixed many problem that DP had and Gen II remakes are awesome, and because of these reason Gen IV is above Gen III.
>Gen III
Half of the map is just empty water routes. Enjoy your fucking Wingull and Tentacool. Enjoy all that gimmicky shit like Castform and Spinda. Enjoy all of them copypaste Pokemon (Volbeat & Illumise, Plusle & Minun, Lati@s...). Enjoy all that wasted potential (Surskit and Nincada both evolving into Bug/Flying and losing their unique typing, Shedinja and Slaking being ruined by their abilites).
