Honestly Yancy could have been a good character considering her duel identity as Nancy that she tries to keep as a secret. She and Malva could have been the announcer of Master 08 Tournament where Nancy acts as a novice who doesn't know much about battle while Malva being the experience trainer who explains the battle mechanics to her.
Instead we get this bland guy that nobody even remembers.
