The point of the Ultra Beasts is not fitting into the mold of what makes a pokemon an actual pokemon in our dimension. Some look like regular pokemon while others are completely alien. It's meant to resemble those multiverse stories where certain alternate dimensions are more similar to ours while others get progressively more and more alien.
