>>39248471>GameFreak>BalanceYou mean the same team who made the ice type?
You mean the same team that made fucking Mega Rayquaza?
You mean the same team that had to make a new type just because of how strong Dragon types were in the previous generations?
You mean the same team that made Stealth Rocks?
You mean the same team that thought infinite weather was a good thing up until Gen 6?
You mean the same team that thought giving a Pokemon priority on all flying type moves was a good thing?
You mean the same team that made Prankster?
You mean the same team that saw these issues and made a new gimmick called Terrains and their answer to balancing it was giving an incredibly small portion of Pokemon in the game the ability to instantly set-up the terrain of the ability they have, causing what we have currently to be considered "Terrain Wars".
That's where we're at now. Pokemon has been enveloped in so much powercreep that the goal of every fight is to get everything done as fast as possible in a turn-based game.
It's not even that hard to balance it either, all they have to do is give the good abilities to shitmons so they can make them more niche but still give them an actual proper niche. Tapu Lele of all things absolutely does not need an ability that boosts it's psychic type moves by 50% while also having STAB and being able to use both Psychic and Psyshock. That's not even the end of it either, because that's ignoring all the other effects Psychic Terrain can do or set off too, like making it even harder to revenge kill you if you go for a bonus speed nature since it kills priority moves or give your Tapu Psychic Seeds instead of something like scarf or specs (yeah, forgot to mention it can do all this without even holding a fucking item) to boost your special defense so you can be a bit more unpredictable with your sets. It's not like Tapu Lele has shitty special defense either (Fucking 115 at base). It just has a below average HP stat.
