I hate the dex being cut and i was mad about it for a long while, but i still want to play it for other aspects other than the Pokemon itself, like exploring the region, customization and the general nice feeling of everyone playing Pokemon again. Trading with others, finding some lore and discussing it etc. is fun as fuck and no amount of missing Pokemon will change that.
Pokemon as we know it ended and concluded with gen4 (or gen5 how some would say) and it pains me, but thats how it is. Time to move on.
There are others games to play and more important battles to fight and put energy into than a Pokemon. Maybe the backlash online was enough to make Gamefreak reconsider cutting Pokemon from future games at least, only time will tell.
