That makes sense. There was a strange resurgence in the pokemon heroes movie and AMVs around it about a year ago.

I started drawing some rough concept art, then realized that shiny latias looks more like a normal girl than a non shiny latias does. Kind of loses the exotic factor.

I made a few rough sketches up a few versions of a shiny latias character I want to model. Then realized that she looks closer to a normal girl than the normal latias lmao.
