And to be on topic, I think certain pokemon can be raised as just food animals. like any mons based on Birds, cows, deer, and fish. Of course, this goes with my headcannon that most wild pokemon are pretty much feral, but when they get trained, they start get smarter. And could be as intelligent as a human.
