There are definitely amazing Dark types out there, but it's by no means a great type let alone essential. Incineroar might be essential in VGC, but in Singles Dark is a much less potent type because of the overabundance of Fairy and Fighting types. The type is used primarily for its Ghost resistance since Ghost is so strong now.
>How dare you have good moves?Knock Off doesn't even clear 100 base power. Practically every other type has stronger options. Mega Horn, Wave Crash, Fire Blast, Flare Blitz, Hydro Pump, Close Combat, Earthquake, Boomburst, Leaf Storm, Wood Hammer...
I'm not saying Knock Off is bad. It's an amazing move, but it's because of its damage output.
>Dark has the best moves in the gameIf you're going to count even signature moves towards the power of the type, Normal is the BEST type in the game, what with Shell Smash, Boomburst, Extreme Speed, Belly Drum, Baton Pass, Fake Out, Fillet Away, Glare, Wish, Recover, Perish Song, Population Bomb, Rapid Spin, Protect, Shed Tail, Substitute, and Tera Starstorm.
