Beat the "main story", now working on completing the dex. I have pretty much everything up through Ebin but my Kekkoh dex is pretty pathetic. I just got back from catching Niterpent.

As long as the team you build doesn't have any glaring common weaknesses, you should be able to make it through the main game with little issue. By the time competitive-style optimization becomes necessary, the game will give you the tools to do it.
