Seriously fuck those writers, especially since they're the sort that bitch that A.I.'s and monsters can't be people too. I love the ones in rising for the whole artificial musculature thing in so far as they have built a living body from artificial materials, plus because you can see these inner workings they allow you to think of how natural bodies work.
Another great thing is you can cut loose with the damage the characters can receive and keep going.
