I fucking hate that they keep resetting Ash, and before SM, the biggest reset was in BW.
BW was already like a soft-reset of Pokémon, so I thought "this is the best moment to retire Ash".
I decided that Ash had to become Champion of Sinnoh, and he would retire as the main character, but he'd still appear from time to time. The role of the new character would go to Hilbert, and since they used to push Dawn a lot
and because Dawn has been my waifu for the last 12 years, she would be his companion.
I... I even wrote a fanfic, but I'm a spic so it's in Spanish. I stopped at about chapter 25 or so. I wanted to continue, but I realized I had created a universe too big; I changed a lot of the rules of the Pokémon anime. Pokémon could use TMs and be stored in PCs in my version. The story was meant to loosely follow the game's story, for once. Some differences were that N outright tells Hilbert that he's King of Team Plasma from their very first encounter, rather than revealing it at the Ferris Wheel in Nimbasa. And Pokémon Musicals were basically Contests, but Pokémon wore costumes and everything had to be set to music. Even battles were set to music.
