You can't blame people for forgetting him, he basically gets little to no exposure in his original game, other games or outside materials. Maybe a Z version would've actually changed that and maybe Z-A will finally give AZ a second chance.
On a side note, it's interesting that despite never being officially available, the special Floette's signature move, Light of Ruin, is technically in later games like SWSH and SV which you know, cut moves completely. And going by TCRF, it may still be technically functional to use in SV unlike other moves.
