>>35317622Thanks anon, warms me heart. But given the direction of this thread, I'm gonna try and see how I can further simplify my designs. These last entries in the series are having me pine for my childhood games, so having my designs inch closer to that standard could probably do me good for a change rather than looking for excuses in recent generations.
That said, if you start appeasing the anons who have been vocal in this thread, then you'll only lure the "literally my mom's X" out of the woodworks. First thing to learn is that one can't win over everyone (arguments about canon designs are enough proof), so when in doubt, I always focus on getting down the concept of the design, since I can always polish it later.
Pic related is a design I worked on earlier and only finished until now. My headcanon is that the base stage is suffering from excess body heat, learns how to cool off, and thus evolves into the bacteriophage. I am, however, concerned that the visual difference between the two is too great. Got the suggestion to give them similar mouth pieces, otherwise I'm generally banking on how bugs can drastically change from their larval/puppae stage to explain this process.
>>35315328The creator is a moonruner, so it's hard for me to find a proper source, but here's a link to a thread where most if not all his designs can be found.

Based on that image alone, you still seem to be working out how the entourage form should look like, so I won't comment too much about it, my point was merely that the simplier outline on the base stage makes it easier to use the base to shape the entourage form.
