>>50776255You get one shiny per badge/E4(/Red in HGSS). I don't know what you mean by "that's your mon for the area". Once you have more than one shiny you can use what you have for the battles. I wasn't soloing the Johto E4 with an Ariados. It's admittedly tedious (particularly with no good grind spots in HGSS) and as you can see the run has taken 2 years to still not be done, but it's neat using multiple teams of favorites to mix and match.
