IF they are going to use the same style as SV for the party icons, there's no way they're getting rid of that outline because other than making the sprite stand out more, they already made party icons in this style for old Megas and other Pokémon that have been unavailable on the Switch so far (as leaked time ago), so they'd have no reason to change that for new ones.
