I want to be able to switch what pokeball you carry your pokemon in after you catch it, like if you caught your pokemon in an ultra ball but wanted it in a great ball you could switch it, it wouldn't add much to the game it would just be a random neat touch

training ball - the captured pokemon will gain extra experience from battle as if they were traded from another game.

sight ball - a pokeball with a x3 catch rate against pokemon you haven't seen before.

luck ball - a pokeball with a random catch rate that can be as high as x6 to as low as x0.5.

I use injection methods not to create Pokemon. Not even to edit Pokemon, moves, IVs or anything.
I use it to only change Pokeballs of my Pokemon.

We do know that once you spawn one its shininess (at least for host) is fixed, so don't try to softreset it for shiny you have to pop it again AFAIK
