I kinda like that angle since it plays up Brock's responsibility, but due to taking a path the anime hinted at early on with how he'd be a natural battler rather than a breeder.
Also for the pure hell of it, make him a ladies man who has no time for them. He'd rather hone his battling skills to the fullest to support his family.
