I'm not really sure where the linear as fuck comes from--to me every Pokemon game is linear, but varying degrees of linear. I hardly noticed this in BW2 just because every "stop" had a new habitat list and other shit to do.
For me, Unova had the biggest batch of region specific bros since ever.
Unova also had the biggest ratio of liked characters for me. Girls and boys, I love pretty much all of them.
