>>46378374>You still spend more time with them as pets>uses the personal perspective argument then says thatI'm going to tell you that you're asking for all 6 of your pokemon to have RPG mechanics. Now I would tell you that JRPGs aren't RPGs in the fact that the only characterization you get is from the story and they are "RPGs" (in the sense of a stat and battle system surrounding the use of the stats and abilities). Now there is also the Misc. information of pokemon data for each pokemon that's rolled alongside data but I will say that it is sparse. Still though, you made the claim and it's blatantly false. At that point you're just "moving the goalpost" to your (the player character's) pokemon. That isn't a problem with pokemon characterization but a failure to lift Pokemon to an RPG standard to say Dragon age or Baulder's Gate...to which I ask
Do you want to program a deep RPG system that gives characterization to any pokemon you catch and have them interact with you.
This also doesn't count pokemon memories or pokemon camp and the island shit in gen 7 where your pokemon interact with shit and develop a personality especially in the context to other pokemon.
That I can understand but even then It just isn't feasible...almost as if there are too many fucking pokemon and too many fucking variables to test. So, its better to just generate the shit and get that information in select npcs and dialogue. I'm just going to say this...
