People will always shower more praise on a Gardevoir or a Giratina than they will for, say, a Monferno or a Pidgeotto.
Also for certain mons like the various regional birds, people will shit their pants and cry that the design isn't "recognizable as the mon" if it isn't basically a glorified recolour. Meanwhile a Gardevoir can just be "vaguely female-shaped anime reference" and people will say it's perfectly recognizable. And that means less creative designs, which means less positive feedback.

That person is to Machoke (and sometimes Machamp) what the one poster here is to Jynx. There's a few mons that have a single dedicated autist that makes a fuck-ton of decent-to-great quality sprites for them.
